January newsletter

Milton organised a community meal at the end of last term – he anticipated 400 people attending but in fact 600 turned up and somehow everyone was fed. The guest of honour was the District Education Officer (in pink, below) but everyone was there, children, parents, teachers (all wearing purple T-shirts so they were easily identifiable) and people from the village.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the costs of the meal and to providing new clothes for the children. They went to the market in Mbale and chose their own outfits = and very smart they looked!

We also provided Christmas parcels containing rice, soap, salt, sugar, tea and cooking oil for 43 older people and for 9 families headed by a child in the village. Milton sent everyone a message saying that it had been a good Christmas because of the support of the sponsors and donors – he said everyone wanted to send thanks and the blessings of the season.
