Milton says the army worm was successfully eradicated by the farmers’ prompt actions and that it looks likely that there will be a good yield of maize in July. Beans are being harvested now

Prescribing Nurse, Sarah Namono was in Kyemula on the first Wednesday of the new term for the health clinic. Each class lined up for their check-up. 

Sarah reported that there has been a noticeable improvement in general health but was concerned about a number of cases of malaria – which is rife in the area. Sarah provided medication for those affected by malaria as well as other communicable ailments.

Diana was able to visit Jackie School with Sarah and commented how very numerous the nursery children are – here are just some of them enjoying a break outside.

A session at the phonics course focused on locally produced teaching materials – the teachers sent us a shopping list and we have provided money to purchase the items they requested.  We look forward to seeing what they produce…..
