Maize crisis

There has been no rain since the end of May, at least ten of the garden farmers in Kyemula will have no maize to harvest as the plants have failed completely. Not only that but no-one can plant seeds for the second crop of the year until the rains come. We have stored some maize to ensure there will be food for the school and now need to buy more from those farmers in wetter areas lucky enough to have a crop. We haven't had to intervene in this way since we helped the farmers become more sustainable in their methods but the weather has been exceptional. Any donations to help pay for this would be much appreciated as it was not in our 2026 budget but is crucial to avoid people starving.
