Now the maize has dried the farmers have co-operatively hired a mobile maize mill to grind the cobs. They are working as a team to have everyone's maize milled on site rather than having to take it to town. They weigh their contribution before its ground so each can take their fair share.  This may seem unremarkable but it’s a huge step forward for the village economy – ten years ago it seemed that the village would never be self sufficient in food but now the farmers are working together and problem solving to increase efficiency.  Some questionable H&S but that’s Uganda!

The children are always excited to receive their new learning materials.  We are currently reviewing the pay rates we offer too as we are aware we have slipped below the median paid in Uganda.
