A huge thank you to all our sponsors and donors – your generosity has enabled us to buy a new blanket for every child in Kyemula and Namayili. Milton had to hire a truck to deliver everything to Kyemula.
And here is Joseph buying the blankets for Namayili
Terri says, ‘Sunday was Chance Nabweya’s annual Christmas party (funded by a couple of U.K. donors and some people Joseph knows in Mbale). They used this opportunity to hand out the blankets to the children. Joseph has been collecting clothing donations to hand out too, plus some bedding which Joseph gave to the elderly/ vulnerable people in the village.
The community danced and celebrated today. Everyone who received a blanket was so thankful and grateful.
Milton organised a lunch for all the children in Kyemula last Thursday, the first time they had all been together since the school closed in March.
He described it as a ‘blessed day’ with the children so excited that they have been remembered by their friends in the UK. Each child received a blanket and a bar of soap
It is lovely to see the children smiling after such a tough year for everyone. We are all hoping that 2021 will be a better year – there is a possibility more classes will return to lessons after the elections.
