We had some very welcome donations and one kind sponsor has come forward to support Rihanna, Vivian and Levi – pictured with their new mattresses and bedding. We are so grateful to have such generous and committed supporters – thank you.
The harvest is well underway in Kyemula – ground nuts and maize are looking good this year.
The local farmers were able to provide 1,500kg for use at Jackie School – which has put 3,600,00ugx (£750) in to the village economy – enabling farmers to continue to improve their farming practice and pay school fees etc. The ‘virtuous circle’ we hoped to create is working well and much appreciated by the community.
Term ends in mid-August so the children are all sitting exams – pictured are P7 at Jackie School who are taking mock-Primary Leaving Exams in Maths, English, Science and Social Studies/RE.
Chris and Terri left Bristol Airport very early on the morning of 14th August en route to Mbale. This will be Chris’s final official monitoring visit and we hope Terri will enjoy the experience sufficiently to take over the role in future. Diana has been co-ordinating the trip at the Ugandan end and we look forward to updates from all three of them – they will be posting on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/3huganda whilst they are away and will produce a special newsletter on their return. (NB the trip is self-funded and does not use charitable funds!)
