The Jackie School teachers were very motivated following the phonics course and immediately set to work to create the teaching materials recommended by the ‘Read for Life’ trainers. This included constructing wooden ‘slates’ .
And when Milton sent me the photo’s of the first phonics classes I was delighted that this was the first in the series – ‘because you have to have breakfast before you learn’ – good to see Maslow’s hierarchy in action!
And equally good to see everyone wearing shoes – there are two classes together for this phonics session – the benches aren’t usually so crowded.
And, returning to Maslow, here are some pupils from Bunyanga Bright Primary School with the foodstuffs and cooking equipment we have bought to enable them to have cooked lunches
The beginning of 2020 has been hectic with so many new projects starting – and as ever this would not be possible without the generosity of our sponsors and donors.
